Skoda Kushaq

Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda India has showcased The Skoda Kushaq an upcoming subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) manufactured by the Czech automaker Skoda Auto for the Indian market.

The name ‘Kushaq‘ was derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Kushak’ which denotes ‘King’ or ‘Emperor’. Sounds like the Conqueror, Yes?

Skoda has finally taken the wraps off its upcoming Kushaq mid-size SUV that will be entrant against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The vehicle was mocked as the Vision IN Concept in February 2020. It’s the first Skoda car to be based on the India-specific MQB A0 IN platform and roll out under the brand’s India 2.0 Project.

Compared to its arch-rivals, the upcoming new Skoda SUV has a longer wheelbase (2651mm) and has more berth space to offer. It has a surfaced dashboard with a thin chrome bar running across its length. The orange tone on the dashboard, center console, and door panels add a sporty finish to the beast.

A 10-inch free-standing touchscreen informative system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, navigation, and several more features to add to it. The console functions are similar to the Skoda Virtual cockpit including digital dials.

The SUV has a twin-spoke steering wheel that shares a resemblance to the new Skoda Superb. It has buttons for audio controls, phone controls, lane assist, voice command, and cruise control. The centre console has touch-sensitive buttons for HVAC. Some of its key features include connected car technology, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable, foldable ORVMs, and more.

The final model stays true to its concept. At the front end, the SUV features the signature split projector headlamps setup, angular bumper with large air intakes, and bold skid plate. Design portions such as alloy wheels, body coat all around, wraparound LED taillamps, a faux diffuser, and a roof spoiler further enhance its sporty looks.
