Last month, a report claimed that the 250 cc inline four-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle is ready in prototype form. Now, a new report from the Indonesian website, 7leopold7 claims that the quarter-litre four-cylinder model will debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The motorcycle is expected to make its Indonesia debut at the KawasakBike Week 2020. Looking at Kawasaki’s aggressive strategy for our market, it will not be incorrect to expect the inline four-cylinder Ninja here. The motorcycle will most likely be christened ‘Ninja ZX-25R’. If launched in India, Kawasaki will most likely opt for the CKD route to import the bike into the country.

For reference, Kawasaki’s 249 cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine on the Ninja 250 makes 39 hp at 12,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The inline four-cylinder motor will be more capable and likely be Euro-V/BS-VI compliant right from the beginning.

In India, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R would slot above the Kawasaki Ninja 300, which retails at INR 2,98,000 (ex-showroom).
